Blue Ridge Parkway - another section!

This weekend we took another ride up the Parkway up to Roanoke, VA. We saw some really pretty scenery with the Fall colors.

Gareth & Aaron on the rock where we had a pic-nic and watched the motorcycles and antique cars go down the Parkway.

A beautiful farm along the Parkway.

Gareth driving his first Corvette! There were about 30 traveling along the Parkway behind us and we all stopped at an overlook together. Gareth was in awe over the purple and yellow "race-car" one and the owner let him pose for a few pics. He was on cloud nine!
The pic below was taken at Mabry Mill along the Parkway. Gareth enjoyed watching the water spin the wheel, and seeing the ducks swim.
The Mayberry Trading Post (built and in operation since 1892) was the old Mayberry Post Office. "The Andy Griffith" show was filmed in Mt. Airy, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. They sell many homemade items at the trading post such as quilts, clothes, aprons, bonnets, soaps, jellies, etc. It was like taking a peek at my grandparents cabinets as a child....you never know what you might come across!
